Join Us on April 26 for our Earth Day Celebration at Thames Creek!

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting our Earth Day Forest Walk again this year.  Verna Mumby, local Consulting Arborist, will be guiding attendees through the wonderful forest paths along Thames Creek in Bowser.  Verna’s knowledge of the forest ecosystem is fascinating to listen to, and makes us fully appreciate this precious resource. If you think that you know the Thames Creek area, we promise that you will learn new things about the various ecosystems and how they interact.

The walk will last approximately 60 minutes. The goal of this walk is educational, so we ask that dogs stay home. The path is well developed, but has up and down terrain and may have muddy patches.  Light hiking boots and possibly walking poles are recommended. We will start with a 11am walk, and if the number of registrants warrant, we’ll open a 1pm walk.

To register, you can go to our websites’ new Calendar page and click on the RSVP link.  We will email registered attendees specific details.  There is no registration fee; donations to Beaufort Watershed Stewards are welcome.

This was an excellent experience. We thought we knew the area well but we were shown and introduced to a large range of fauna to enhance our understanding and knowledge. Verna’s knowledge and clear delivery was a fine fit. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
