Our Earth Day celebration took place in one of our favorite and most pristine locations in our watersheds:  Lower Waterloo Creek Forest.  We held a guided interpretive walk led by Verna Mumby, whose knowledge of trees, mosses, ferns and insects held us in rapt attention.  After 2 hours we felt like we had barely touched the surface of what one could learn about such a complex interconnected ecosystem.  To see a forest that has been mostly left alone to grow and evolve in a natural way has become a rare and eye-opening experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>BWS and other groups are advocating to have Lower Waterloo Creek Forest designated as an official Old Growth Management Area (OGMA) to ensure that it will never be logged.
